Volunteer Opportunities and Information

Third Street Alliance relies on the hard work and dedication of volunteers to help us in our daily tasks, special events, information distribution, and more!

We always welcome new volunteers, either individuals or groups. We have several projects ready for a volunteer or group to begin working on and are open to ideas from the volunteers themselves. Some of the projects available at this time include:

  • painting hallways and rooms/offices
  • gardening
  • a thorough cleaning and reorganizing of the resident kitchen and pots & pans bank
  • entertaining our adult care members in Sharing the Caring
  • entering information into a database to help us keep track of library books
  • ongoing data entry

We also have a few positions for volunteers who wish to help out on a more regular basis:

  • Sharing the Caring needs a person (a male would be ideal) to work with one special client who needs individual attention with activities such as woodworking and/or painting.  He needs special attention for about one-half hour at 11 am and 3 pm.  He loves to engage in conversation, but has increasing difficulty with speech.  Patience is a must!

  • The Learning Center Food Program is looking for volunteers to help with the delivery of food to the various classrooms and then to help with the dishes, especially on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Beginning in May, the program will be expanding to include the feeding of the Sharing the Caring clients on those two days and then in July the program will expand again to provide lunches everyday.  The hours needed are between 10 am and 2 pm.

  • The Development Department is looking for someone interested in Easton history to do some research at the Northampton County Register of Wills.  This is a project that could take as little time as a few hours, or could turn out to be large enough to involve multiple volunteers.  That’s the thing about research – you just never know!

Of course, we also welcome volunteers as "visitors" to our adult care and child care programs. However, volunteers in these departments must be at least 16 years of age and must complete a criminal history check. Volunteers in child care must also obtain a child abuse history clearance.

Volunteers in our aquatics (Wellness) programs and in Resident Housing must also complete a criminal history check.

Individuals needing to complete community service hours can be quickly placed into our Housekeeping, Maintenance, or Administrative departments.

In order to become a volunteer, you will need to complete a volunteer application.
