Volunteer Opportunities and Information

Third Street Alliance relies on the hard work and dedication of volunteers to help us in our daily tasks, special events, information distribution, and more!

Becoming a Third Street Alliance Volunteer

In order to become a volunteer, you will need to complete a volunteer application. Applications can be obtained at our office during business hours (8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday) or by clicking on the application icon at right and downloading the file. Completed applications can be submitted to Judy Matthewson by email (jmatthewson@thirdstreetalliance.org), fax (610-258-2112), or mail (41 North Third Street Easton, PA 18042).

After we receive your application, we will review the information and call you for more specifics on your preferences. Then we will begin looking for an appropirate placement for you.

Volunteer Opportunities

We always welcome new volunteers, either individuals or groups. We have several projects ready for a volunteer or group to begin working on and are open to ideas from the volunteers themselves. Some of the projects available at this time include:

  • painting hallways and rooms/offices
  • assist with the restoration of a third floor historic room which was once Mr. Simon's bedroom
  • gardening
  • entertaining our adult care members in Sharing the Caring
  • entering information into a database to help us keep track of library books
  • ongoing data entry

We also have a few positions for volunteers who wish to help out on a more regular basis:

  • The Wellness department is looking for groups or clubs who would like to sponsor and plan the activities for Kids Night Out. You can read about Kids Night Out by visiting our Aquatics & Recreation page and clicking on "Just For Fun". The volunteers would be responsible for choosing a month and planning the activities, games, and/or projects and purchasing any necessary supplies. The volunteers would also need to be available to come in during Kids Night Out to help with the activities. When you really think about it, we need volunteers to come in and play!
  • The Resident Services department is looking for individuals willing to help our resident women learn better techniques to keep their homes and living areas clean. Many of the residents are on their own for the first time and need some help developing their housekeeping skills.

Of course, we also welcome volunteers as "visitors" to our adult care and child care programs. However, volunteers in these departments must be at least 16 years of age and must complete a criminal history check.

Volunteers in our aquatics (Wellness) programs and in Resident Housing must also complete a criminal history check.

Individuals needing to complete community service hours can be quickly placed into our Housekeeping, Maintenance, or Administrative departments.
