14th Annual Bistro

Third Street Alliance's 14th Annual Bistro was held on Sunday, Februaury 14th at Third Street Alliance. The evening featured fine cuisine by Elizabeth Mulrine, music by Brian Clifford, an elegant atmosphere and a wonderful silent auction with over 40 baskets!

Third Street Alliance would like to thank Elizabeth Mulrine for all of her hard work and dedication to the Bistro over the years.

Third Street Alliance would also like to thank Victaulic, Lafayette Ambassador Bank, Easton Hospital, PNC Bank, Crayola, Inc., Brown & Brown Insurance, Lafayette College, Sodexho Dining Services, Drake's Rentals, Preston & Sue Hindmarch, Lafayette College volunteers, and all committee and community members who helped to make this year's Bistro another success!

Third Street Alliance for Women & Children announces that it has received a grant from IronPigs Charities (IPC) to defray the cost of a safety surface for The Learning Center playground.

IronPigs Charities, presented by the Air Products Foundation, was created in October, 2007, to provide educational and recreational opportunities for Lehigh Valley youth.  Since its inception, IPC has donated more that $224,000 to local nonprofits.  IronPigs Charities raises money from various events, including the Phillies Caravan on January 27^th at which Third Street Alliance and 22 other nonprofits received grants.

The Learning Center at Third Street Alliance is a NAEYC accredited childcare serving children in the community from twelve months up to thirteen years.  As part of its quality program, the Learning Center promotes physical activity.  The grant from IronPigs Charities will defray the cost of a safety surface which allows the playground area to drain faster so that it can be used daily.  In addition, the new surface helps to cushion falls that occur and is safer than grass or mulch.
